The plant has many traditional medicinal uses, especially as an emetic, cleansing, vermifuge and scabicide. The sap of crushed leaves mixed with salt, or a decoction of plant, is applied to treat scabies and other skin problems. The root decoction is also taken against intestinal worms and stomach-ache. This plant is held in high esteem in traditional Tamil Siddha medicine as it is believed to rejuvenate the body.

Those who are suffering from intestine worms like tape worms, can consume extracts of kuppai meni leaves for quick relief. Patients can consume 2tsp of leaves juice to fight against the condition.

Kuppaimeni leaves for skin: Make a paste of the leaves of Kuppai meni and add a pinch of salt in it. Now spread this paste on rashes or ringworms affected area to get relief. 

Kuppaimeni for face: People with acne scars can apply kuppai meni leaves paste.

Those who are suffering from heat boils can apply Kuppai meni leaves paste mixed with lemon juice on the affected area.
